“Red Moles”

Let’s talk cherry angiomas! What are they and how can we treat them?

If you’re over the age of 30, you may find cherry angiomas—red, small, round skin abnormalities—on your arms, shoulders, face, torso or legs. The blood vessels inside of a cherry angioma give rise to its red appearance.

The cause of these "red moles" is thought to be linked to pregnancy and chemical exposure, as well as good old fashioned genetic factors. They can bleed if scratched or cut, but typically do not require medical attention unless a change in color, size or shape is noticed.

Most people opt to have them removed for cosmetic reasons (and we have just the magic for that!). Our Lamprobe device uses radio frequency to effectively treat cherry angiomas with extreme and targeted precision, without penetrating the skin's surface or affecting the surrounding skin. The cherry angioma is vaporized by the energy emitted from the Lamprobe, and may appear as a light "scab" post-procedure as the skin heals.

Patients can add Lamprobe to nearly any facial or service. Simply call or text to update your appointment to include this skin-perfecting technology!
